My first post

I have no idea what to put as my first post, so I'm just going to rant about Voldemort for this whole post.

First off, why is he evil?  I must have missed the part where growing up in an orphanage will make you evil, but growing up surrounded by people who hate you and treat you like a slave will make you good.  Voldemort should have had a similar personality to Harry if his background had anything to do with it.  But if his background had nothing to do with his evil, then we are forced to assume that he was evil at eleven years old!  That's not going to happen.  Second, how is he a Slytherin?  All he does is kill people and torture others.  There is no cunning about that.  He should have been in Gryffindor - he's willing to continuously face the one person he believes can kill him and force his followers not to interfere.  The only reason he's in Slytherin is that his ancestor was Slytherin and he's evil.  I refuse to accept that the Hat places people in houses based on their ancestry, or it would be useless.  And Slytherin wasn't evil.  He was a product of the eleventh century wizarding culture.  His beliefs were those commonly accepted at the time.  Besides, why would an evil wizard build a school?  Especially if it doesn't teach the dark arts!  Why would two good witches and a good wizard help him?  Why would they let him help them?  And why would the Hat create an Evil House.  That makes no sense whatsoever.  In fact, I've seen Gryffindors just as bad as Voldemort - the Marauders bullied a kid and gave him psychological scars for life simply because they didn't like how he looked.  No wonder Snape joined the Death Eaters - that was the only chance for a halfblood Slytherin to survive in the Wizarding World!  The real tragedy is that someone as obviously senile as Dumbledore (he knows that it doesn't have to be Harry to kill Voldemort, so why does he only give Harry the information necessary - and he gives Harry information slowly over a year that could easily be given in a few hours!  Why not train Harry like he said he would?) was put in charge of a school.  Particularly when you consider that he does nothing about the fact that two of the houses are plotting to murder the entire other houses.  In conclusion, Voldemort is a terrible villain, Dumbledore was senile, and Hogwarts is the worst school to go to.  Ever.
